How does Vagisan MoistCream work?

Vagisan MoistCream has a high water content and as a result, it supplies moisture to the skin in the vagina and the external genital area. The lipids it contains nurture the sensitive and dry skin and make it supple.

Vagisan MoistCream does not only have a high water content but also contains nourishing lipids which make the skin soft and supple.

How often should I use Vagisan MoistCream?

You can adapt the frequency of use to your personal needs. Usually, the cream is applied in the vagina once a day (in the evening); once symptoms have improved, the frequency of application can be reduced as needed. We recommend wearing a panty liner when using this product.
You can apply Vagisan MoistCream to the external genital area and the opening to the vagina several times per day as needed.

Can I use Vagisan MoistCream during pregnancy?

Vagisan MoistCream is safe to use during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. As a precaution, it is recommended that you do not use the applicator during pregnancy.

Will the safety of condoms be affected if I use Vagisan MoistCream as a lubricant?

The cream can be used before sexual intercourse to help to alleviate symptoms of vaginal dryness. Based on very latest findings, tear strength of condoms and caps/ diaphragms (made of latex or polyurethane or polyisoprene) can be compromised with simultaneous use of Vagisan MoistCream.

My partner and I are trying to conceive. Can I use Vagisan MoistCream?

You can use Vagisan MoistCream while trying to conceive, both in the external genital area and inside the vagina. Sperm motility is not affected.

I am 45 years old and suffer badly from vaginal dryness. How long do I have to use Vagisan MoistCream until the symptoms disappear completely?

When women’s bodily constitution changes due to normal aging and the years that follow, vaginal dryness is caused by declining hormone levels. Therefore, one cannot expect vaginal dryness to ‘disappear’, but rather to remain. The regular use of Vagisan MoistCream, which supplies the skin in the internal and external vaginal area with moisture and restorative lipids, is similar to your skin care routine for your face and hands. Regular application of the cream helps keep the skin supple.

I experience a burning sensation after applying Vagisan MoistCream to the external genital area and vaginal opening. Is this normal? Can I and should I continue to use the cream?

It is normal to feel a slight burning momentarily after applying Vagisan MoistCream. Even the application of gels may show this side effect.
However, should the burning be very strong and uncomfortable and last longer than 5 to 10 minutes (possible in individual cases), we advise you stop using the cream. In such a case, rinse the external genital area with lukewarm water. We then advise against further use of the cream.

I am currently on certain medication. Since then, the skin in my genital area has been very dry. Can I use Vagisan MoistCream?

Yes, Vagisan MoistCream is suitable for women who have to take drugs in connection with the treatment of breast cancer and its aftercare. Please consult your gynaecologist.

Is Vagisan MoistCream suitable for young women too? I am 20 years old.
